OBELISK WORKSHOP

with BAREWOOD GARDENS

Sunday 29th March

This promises to be the most blissful day!

Come and create something beautiful for your garden, we’ll make willow obelisks in the inspiring surrounds of notable garden, Barewood in Seddon. You’ll learn techniques that have been used for centuries to weave structure and beauty for your garden.

The day is fully catered with morning tea, a garden lunch and afternoon nibbles.

There’ll be time afterwards to wander and sit and fully enjoy the garden in all it’s autumn beauty.

Hanging Basket from Foraged Fibres

These workshops are part of the Make It Nelson initative, being run by the Nelson Arts Council to highlight the arts in Nelson.

A one-day workshop that will give you a foundation to go and weave your heart out wherever you wander.

We'll explore weaving techniques and look at a couple of different ways to put a structure together using natural fibres from my garden. No specialist tools or materials required, all you need is the know-how and you're away and laughing.

Work in a cooperative nurturing environment with like-minded folk. This one-day workshop is perfect for beginners or those with some experience. Everyone will be encouraged to explore with materials and techniques, and celebrate the individuality of our creations, acknowledging the ongoing learning that comes with creating

Finish the working week with a creative few hours learning the timeless art of wrapping stones that can be used as markers for those special moments in life.

We’ll gather in the cozy meeting room on Friday evening at Fairfield House, I’ll supply everything you need, tools and materials and a few snacks and refreshments to keep us fueled. Just turn up and enjoy the evening and leave with a couple of special pieces and the know how to do it again.

Saturday Blessing Stone Workshop

As with the Friday workshop, everything you need to make these beautiful timeless pieces will be there for you, including tools, materials, snacks and refreshments - just turn up and learn how.

Booking and Cancellations

BOOKINGS

Please do get in touch if you’d like to discuss payment options.

50% fee is required to hold your space. The workshops have been popular in the past, if payment is not received within 10 days of your enquiry the space will be offered to someone else.

Full payment is required to be paid 14 days before the class date.

CANCELLATIONS

Sometimes cancellations are inevitable so please check below how this applies to your situation.

  • In acknowlegement of the time and energy employed and costs involved in preparing for workshops and the outcomes for other participants, if you cancel your booking within 10 days of the workshop date, or don’t turn up on the day, you are NOT eligible for a refund.

  • For paid workshops where you cancel more than 10 days before the workshop date, you will receive a refund but a $45 administration fee will be applied. Where possible, an alternative workshop date may be offered.

While it's unlikely to happen, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop/event due to low enrolment, tutor illness or other circumstances. If the event is cancelled, participants will receive a full refund of their registration fee. If the event is rescheduled, participants will have the option of attending the rescheduled event or receiving a full refund.
